 What is Piranhas Softball?

The Palatine Piranhas is a part-time travel softball program offered by Palatine Community Baseball & Softball and available to House players only.

By choosing to be a part of the Piranhas softball program, your athlete will have the opportunity to play a more competitive level of softball while also maintaining some of the flexibility that defines summertime.

The benefits of playing with the Piranhas:

No scheduling conflicts with House teams: Practices and Games will generally be on Fridays and Sundays from April through July.

No part-time or post-season experience required

Personalized Piranhas uniform and gear: Adorned in Piranhas gear, your athlete will feel proud representing our great community. Athletes will be able to choose their own number which will appear on their jerseys. Piranhas gear includes jerseys, pants, socks, belt, and more.

Friendly games against teams from neighboring communities: Piranhas travel within the Chicago suburbs, usually not more than an hour away, to gain experience competing against teams outside of the PCBS rec league.

Additional practice time at local indoor and outdoor facilities: The Piranhas have access to the top of the line facilities provided by the Palatine Park District. We frequently practice and play  at the coveted Community or GBUR fields. Beginning in January, the Piranhas will have indoor winter field time and batting practice at the sought-after Falcon Park Recreation Center.

Targeted skill development with position specialization: Playing with the Piranhas, you can expect growth and improvement. Players will learn the nuances of each position, defensive plays, and the intricacies of the game that are sometimes overlooked in a busy House softball season.

Local tournament play: Teams will participate in approximately 3 local softball tournaments. Historically, these have included a Memorial Day tournament and other tournaments scheduled in the month of July. In the past, these have included the Cary Grove Tournament of Stars, the Roselle Rockers, and the Lake Zurich Memorial Day Tournament.

Contribution to the growth and success of PCBS House league baseball: One of the real benefits of being a member of the Piranhas is that our athletes learn to be positive influences on their house teams. They take the skill and knowledge they have acquired from the Piranhas and pass it on to their teammates. Piranhas members play a critical role in continuing the proud tradition of PCBS softball.

Reasonable Pricing: Local full-time travel teams can often cost well into the thousands of dollars, not including the cost of overnight accommodations. Because of our affiliation with Palatine Community Baseball & Softball and the local high schools, the Piranhas program is able to keep costs to a fraction of the cost of other programs.

TAKE YOUR GAME TO THE NEXT LEVEL!
