Become a Volunteer with the PCBS
The PCBS is in need of additional volunteers within our organization! We are looking for individuals who are ready to make a positive impact in the community. You do not have to be a baseball or softball expert. There are lots of ways you can help. Time commitments from just a few hours a month to positions which require more regular involvement. Similar to a business we have to maintain operations, inventory, finances, web site, and more. Lots of ways to make a difference. If you're interested in joining our board, email our secretary at pcbs_secretary@pcbs.fun. Let them know you'd like to be a volunteer and if there is a particular area of interest.
...It’s another Saturday morning in Palatine...
The players sprint to their positions, coaches post lineups and shout encouragement, and the umpire shouts, “Play Ball,” before the first pitch snaps the leather of the catcher’s mitt.... This same scene plays out hundreds of times from April through October on fields throughout Palatine. We see it so often that it seems automatic and commonplace which means our Volunteers are doing an AMAZING JOB! But it's not EASY by any means…
To get there, it took hundreds of hours of work by volunteers.
Volunteers who are interested in contributing to their community. Volunteers who recognize the value of learning to win… and to lose. Volunteers who understand cooperation and working as a team. Volunteers who remember the experiences they had on the baseball and softball diamonds of their youth and the friendships that lasted long after they crossed those chalky white lines.
Not only to coach or manage one of our over 200 teams, but we also desperately need your help to:
• Manage our websites • Create social media posts • Photograph games • Develop and market our brand • Design and manage our uniforms • Plan our special events • Coordinate and facilitate our training initiatives • Count the pennies and balance the books • Manage and repair our equipment • Maintain our fields • Manage our Health and Safety items • Schedule Fields • Manage registration • Manage Sponsors • SOOO much more!
