Travelers Baseball

By joining the Travelers baseball program, your athlete will have the opportunity to play against the top talent from Chicago, its suburbs and beyond. Travelers includes opportunities to play fall baseball, winter training and games through mid-July. Players will compete against the top players from the local areas, and the program is a stepping stone to competing at the high school level and beyond. Typically, there is an A- and B-level team that offers competition at similar levels. Visit the Travelers Baseball website for more information.

Ages	9–14 (Based on a 01 May Birthday)
Games	30–50 games per spring season, potentially 8–10 fall games and 2–5 in-state and/or out-of-state tournaments.
Cost	$1000–2000, depending on tournament and training schedules.
Commitment	Teams will meet 1 to 2 times per week from August through March. Teams will meet 3 to 4 times per week from early April through mid-July.

TRYOUT INFORMATION

Tryouts for the Travelers program are held in early July and are free, however, you will need to pre-register. Players should come properly equipped with protection, glove, bat and water. Please arrive on time for your scheduled age group’s tryout session.

Who is eligible to play?

The opportunity to participate in the Travelers baseball program is open to all registered 9U to 14U baseball players in the northwest suburbs. Fremd and Palatine High School are preferred. See tryout information above.

Where will travel games be played?

Games will be played against the surrounding suburbs and Chicago teams, including Arlington Heights, Rolling Meadows, Schaumburg, Crystal Lake, Cary and many more. Local tournaments are routinely played on weekends. A 3- to 5-day, out-of-state tournament is also common for teams. Additionally, previous teams have made trips to Cooperstown, Myrtle Beach and Pigeon Forge.

Where and when are practices and home games held?

Practices and games are held throughout the week and weekend. Travelers has access to the top-of-the-line facilities provided by the Palatine Park District, such as Falcon, with additional training at local training facilities. We practice and play almost exclusively at the coveted Community or Gbur fields.

What are the uniforms?

Typically, 2 to 3 sets of Travelers uniforms are purchased for the season. Additionally, Travelers gear is also available to the program.

What is included in the program fee?

The fee to play on Travelers is based on the individual team uniform and tournament choices. The fee typically includes all scheduled games, umpiring fees, uniforms, insurance, training and tournament fees. Fundraising is generally offered to help reduce the annual cost and is based on team needs.
